Private Island is a 3 piece band with members Joe Mennonna, Ernest Poccia and Tyger MacNeal. All three are award winning professionals and have shared the stage and album tracks with many stars and celebrities. The idea for the group is an extension of the members’ previous collaborations on film soundtracks and record projects.

Private Island’s style is smooth jazz or contemporary instrumental jazz. Our goal is to create music for the smooth jazz genre that is noticeably different then what the current popular trends have produced. As current contemporary instrumental jazz relies heavily on the use of drum machines, loops and heavy sound processing, we create commercial jazz recordings with all tracks and overdubs recorded with live instruments and basic post production for more realism. We feel this results in a higher quality listening experience for our fans.

Occasionally we welcome the talents of other musicians, and their work is heard on the CD.
